three steps to saving the planet

If everyone in the world followed these simple steps then we wouldn't have a lot of the problems we have today. The problem is, not many people can follow them.

.1 Reduce.
.2 Reuse.
.3 Recycle.

And that's it

  2. I'm trying really hard. I took my reusable bags to the store yesterday. It's really hard to remember to do all that when you are as old as me, but I'm trying. I love you.

  3. We are visiting here in Oregon, and the boys wanted to mention that they have solar powered flashing school lights here. And William has been very into whales for about 2 years now and he wanted to mention how important it is to keep the ocean clean too. For the whales and all of the ocean life. William and Jack

  4. Treez n' Me.

We been frenz fer a' looong time now, me n' treez. I remember m' Daddy makin' a' swing of a' old tire an' a' rope! Hung it in th' tallest of them treez in our back yard-- Oak, I believeit was. Bro n' Me loved that there swing!

We used t' climb in a' lot of 'em, too. Shooot, we even fell out of a few! Di-dent get hurt, though. Real blessed, I reckon.
Y' know, sometime back, when I wuz in grade school, I kin remember them tellin' us that treez breath! Yeah!,.. they breath out oxygen so we c'n breath it in, nice an' fresh! An' we breath out carbon ... somethin', which the treez breath back in t' stay pretty an' green, just right for climbin'!!

Now, in th' winter, th' wind an' snow come along and kinda' trim off th' dead wood from 'em so we c'n find it in spring, summer n' fall, t' make real neat campfires an' roast things what r gooood t' eat and tell stories 'round th' fire an' be with our folks.
Yep, I reckon Treez N' Me been frenz,..oh, be quite a' while now. ~ Sabba

  6. I agree with you Gaebriel! How about sharing specific ways that we can use the 3 R's. Bright ideas from people like you are should be shared. Keep up the good work!

Yoda would say "a Jedi ECO-tologist, you are". The stick book sounds really cool too! I really LOOOOVE the tree house!! I was watching WIPE OUT tonight and thought about you and your uncontrolled laughter when you watched it. I really miss that laugh! Love ya, Pop

  7. Wow Gaebriel! – Your blog is right on track. Thanks for reminding me what a difference it makes to the health of the planet for me to do the little things. My water bottle is green and I know that is one of your favorite colors. When I drink from it I will think of your blog and the beautiful green trees in the background. And thanks for reminding me how important it is to let your imagination run wild and to have fun with your family. I am practicing the imagination running wild right now. Whoosh… I am standing in Qatar with you going on an adventure.

  8. here are some ideas for doing the R thing.

So, starting off with reduce. Completely reduce all the stuff you get. My family watched No Impact Man a couple of years ago and so we started not buying ANYTHING but food that had no packages. It was fun and mom and dad were mad that it was so hard. Everything is in a package. We would take the pachage off of things that we absolutley had to by and then hand it to the boss of the store and that was good. also on reuse you coulds make art. we make art out of all of our sereal boxs and it is fun and pretty for the house. and to make a a compost pile. we are doing that here in qatar and reusing our vegetables and eggshjells that can feed our flowers and gardn. Good ideas?

    1. Great ideas! I absolutely hate all that extra packaging. It is wasteful and sometimes really hard to open your items! I wish we could get the manufacturers to stop all excess.....don't you? NANA
